چکیده

Chemical Buffering Extracellular buffers, including plasma proteins, phosphates, and bicarbonate, are the earliest defense against acidosis. The most prominent extracellular buffer is bicarbonate, which is highly abundant and acts as a dynamic buffer by independently regulating Pco2 through changes in alveolar ventilation. This feature increases buffering capacity by more than 10-fold. Buffering also occurs within the intracellular compartment but is delayed as H+ equilibrates over a period of hours. Intracellular buffers, including bone, inorganic phosphates, proteins, and hemoglobin, are eventually responsible for more than 50% of the overall chemical buffering capacity.

Molecular characterization and in situ mRNA localization of the neural recognition molecule J1-160/180: a modular structure similar to tenascin

The oligodendrocyte-derived extracellular matrix glycoprotein J1-160/180 is a recognition molecule expressed exclusively in the central nervous system. J1-160/180 has been shown to be adhesive for astrocytes and repellent towards neurons and growth cones. We report here the complete nucleotide sequence of J1-160/180 in the rat. The predicted amino acid sequence showed a structural architecture ...

A comprehensive review on vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene polymorphism in immune-related diseases with emphasis on dermatologic disorders

There are many immune mediated disorders with the corroborated role of vitamin D or Vitamin D Receptor (VDR) gene polymorphisms in their pathogenesis, immunologic regulation, and disease characteristics. Therefore, in this review, we searched PubMed data base in regard to the role of VDR gene polymorphisms in common autoimmune disorders, emphasizing on dermatologic diseases.

Pretreatment effects on orange processing waste for making ethanol by simultaneous saccharification and fermentation.

Citrus processing waste (CPW) pretreated under different times, pH and temperatures was investigated. Pretreatments at 160 degrees C for longer than 4 min with steam purging were needed to remove limonene, an inhibitor for fermentation, to below 0.1%. While hemicelluloses were solubilized well following all pretreatments at 160 degrees C, just 70% of the pectin was solubilized in natural CPW co...

The Isolation and Characterization of Adenosine Monophosphate-rich Polynucleotides Synthesized by Soybean Hypocotyl Cells: Their Relation to Messenger Ribonucleic Acid.

Plant ribonucleic acids which have high adenosine monophosphate concentrations were studied. Purified deoxyribonucleic acid-like ribonucleic acid and tenaciously bound ribonucleic acid fractions both contained poly-adenosine monophosphate sequences (those from the latter being longer than those from the former); without these poly-adenosine monophosphate sequences their base compositions were t...
